First day of school

Just finished my first day of school

Getting more stressed.
They don't give notes, so need to take down notes. I checked the prices of notebooks here, at least 7 CAD, freaking ex la!!

They use blackboards and OHPs here. Quite cool, the blackboards can slide around one.
[from the pic, can see that among the heads of guys, there's only 1 gal, this is even worse than Singapore!]

This week is ENGG week. Can see first year students running around with cool costumes and shouting. Very happening. They even crash into lectures and ask the lecturers for signatures, getting much attention from the seniors attending the lecture.

Later tonight, going to Science Theatre to watch 40 year old virgin. The student union here shows movies every Monday for free. Popcorns are at 2 dollars, and I think they are all-you-can-eat. Seems like the student union here is much more active than in NUS.

Other services provided by the student union include the Bound and Copied, which helps resell used textbooks, similar to IES's Old Book Sales, except that the shop is permanent and they charge a commission of 25%.

Their diary, Daytimer, contains a lot of coupons and vouchers for stalls around campus and nearby. The quality of the paper used is also better than that of NUS's diary.

[Tried to upload some photos here, but Bloggers pic upload system seems to be down.]
