Movie Monday
|
Every Monday evening, I would make my way down to Science Theatre 148, where the student union will play a movie, free for students, $2 for outsiders. AND many outsiders do come to watch! I guess its because there aren't many cinemas in Calgary(at most 5) and $2 is quite cheap. The movies they screen are quite recent and very nice (so far). Last week was Wallace and Gromit, one of the best animations I have ever seen. Today, I just watched March of the Penguins. Its supposed to be a documentary, but it seems like a work of art to me. The way the penguins march to their mating ground, their mating rituals, how they protect their young, its so beautiful. Its like a dance, poetry in motion. Credits to the producers, I wonder how they manage to do it in such extreme temperatures. I can't even stand the cold in Calgary, much less the Antartica. |
